Dog hair and the problems that are associated with the shedding process are part of owning a dog.
You may never eliminate the issue entirely, but there are things you can do to help control the problem.
If possible you should brush your dog every day. Brushing your dog as often as possible helps reduce the amount that your dog sheds.
You will soon find that the more you brush your dog, the less hair you will find in your home. The times that you are brushing your dog, you will also see a significant decrease in the amount of hair in the brush.
The brushing that you are performing on your dog will help with their circulation and stimulate the natural oils throughout their coat.
You will also find that the brushing removes dirt, debris, loose hair and grass, which will all accumulate over time. There are several different tools and pieces of equipment that you will need if you want to brush your dog at home.
Using the right equipment will ensure that you are brushing your dog correctly and that the hair is being removed in a safe way. If you hurt your dog while brushing, they will be reluctant to let you brush them. Brushing your dog before you wash them is always recommended, to ensure that all the tangles have been removed.
There are several different brushes available for your dog, and the one you use will depend on the length of your dog’s hair.
Bristle brushes are the safe option that work well on all dogs, and help to stop the shedding of their hair. However, if you want to purchase the perfect brush for your dog, you need to look at the length of their hair. Longer bristles are ideal for long-haired dogs, and shorter, firmer brushes are designed for short hair.
You may find that your dog has incredibly fine hair, which requires a comb to deal with the hair issues. Coats that are fine and silky will need to be combed often, to ensure that the hair remains in good condition. Once you have brushed your dog, you may find that they are still shedding far too much hair. Therefore, you may want to consider clipping your dog’s hair with a set of professional clippers.
Clipper kits will include everything that you need to maintain and clip your dog’s hair and keep it under control. Many dog owners prefer to clip their dogs throughout the summer months to keep them cool. You will find that they shed their hair far less once it has been clipped, brushed and looked after correctly.
If you do not maintain your dog’s coat, and brush them regularly, their hair can cause a huge amount of issues. The loose hair will float throughout your home and can attach itself to clothing, furniture and carpets. It may also become a health problem if there is an extreme buildup of hair, and you find that it is everywhere.
Alongside brushing your dog, you may find that changing their food can help with the shedding issues and will stop your dog from losing their hair. Some dogs are sensitive to certain foods, and this can cause them to lose hair. Health issues may also be a contributing factor to your dog losing their hair, and if you are concerned, you need to have the dog looked at by the vet.
